Craig Painter – Principal Solicitor and Owner
After obtaining a trade certificate and teaching in secondary schools in Sydney, Craig turned his attention to the law.
He graduated and was admitted to the ACT Supreme Court and High Court in 2003. Craig was awarded a Masters of Law in 2006.
Craig has an empathetic approach to client issues and looks at each unique situation to ensure any problem is anticipated.
Whether it be Estate Planning, buying or selling property, business development, protecting client’s rights or dispute resolution, Craig’s approach is result focused with limited fuss and he understands the importance of protecting clients and their families, for both the present and the future.
Craig purchased McSpeddenHarvey Lawyers in 2018 and rebranded it to Westbourne Legal, to reflect the location of the office. Outside of work, Craig enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and is besotted with his 2 young grandchildren.
Rebecca Smith – Conveyancing Team Leader
Rebecca’s legal career began as a legal secretary in Sydney.
It wasn’t long before she began working in the conveyancing team, dealing with a variety of property transactions.
In 2017, Rebecca completed the Conveyancing Law and Practice course at Macquarie University and obtained her NSW Conveyancing Licence.
Returning to Canberra in 2018, Rebecca began assisting clients with their property transactions in both the ACT and NSW.
With 20 years’ of experience in property law, Rebecca strives to make the conveyancing process a smooth and stress-free experience for her clients.
Outside of the office, Rebecca loves to ride motorbikes and solve puzzles.
Rachael Adamson – Estates Manager
Rachael joined our team in 2019 with over 20 years experience in legal administration and para-legal work.
Rachael understands that the loss of a special person is one of the hardest things we go through in life. In her estate administration role, she strives to minimise the added pressure on families at this time by helping them navigate the process involved in finalising an estate.
Her empathetic approach to managing the day to day running of estates allows our clients to focus on what is really important, their family and friends.
Outside of work, Rachael is a busy Mum who loves spending time with her family and friends.
She loves reading, going to the gym and enjoys a good wine.
Alix Snow – Client services
Alix joined the firm 7 years ago with a solid background in business administration and customer service.
Alix understands that clients have different reasons for attending their solicitor and as such, she engages with them to ensure their experience with us is a positive one.
Alix works closely with her colleagues and clients to ensure any queries are addressed.
Alix also oversees the day-to-day operations of the office.
Alix’s favourite pastime is discussing politics and religion with her dog, Daisy, on their long walks.
Clare Moggach
Clare is new to the world of law and works as part our conveyancing team.
In 2022, Clare completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the Australian National University and set her sights on travel thereafter, joining our firm at the end of 2023.
Clare understands that the purchase and sale of a property are major transactions in a person’s life, and endeavors to ensure a smooth transition as properties move from one owner to the next.
Clare’s personal and friendly approach to client interactions ensures a positive conveyancing experience from start to finish. She’ll greet you with a smile each and every time.
Outside of work, Clare loves to spend her time reading anything and everything; and playing all kinds of board games.
